Hello, can someone help me with this?

I am trying to create a Flash projector that will include 6 or 7 different videos. Most of them .mpeg files and some of them are .mov files. Basically what I want is to create a set of buttons, and on the click of each button it would go to a certain movie and play it. I do want to create all the controls in Flash if possible so it would all look the same in terms of presentation for each movie.

What is the best and easiest way to import a video file? What do I do with the audio if it is lost? Can you just present me with the simplified tutorial on how to do it?

Thank you very much.

A program you might want to look into is

http://www.sorenson.com
Sorenson Squeeze. Very efficient Video-for-Web software tool. It converts almost any video format to SWF or FLV, which Flash accepts smoothly. For the formats it doesn't convert, like MP2, there's additional movie converters you can find off www.download.com.

Once your MOV is converted to an SWF, you can load the new video as you would a SWF movie.

Also in Squeeze, you can choose your export settings, such as High Bandwidth, Low Bandwidth, Dial Up, Frame Rate, Resolution, size, etc.

Another method is:

Import the video alone into it's own FLA file. Probably takes a while depending on the vide. Export that FLA to the FLV file. You shouldn't have a problem calling that FLV file.

If you happen to get MX 2004, it also has new components for video and other issues with movies.

Best to you,

the up two software maybe can help you. but this style software isn't easily seaching. The Flash 8 pro may help you, but it need to learn a lot like action program.

mpeg and mov can be easily converted to swf or flv with this geovid video to flash converter. but it costs a lot for me.
if someone can advise me a free conversion program i'd be happy. but don't tell me about riva and camstudio, they just record a screen. and i need a converter.

it`s a pity, but i know only one converter with a fair parity of quality and its price, and haven't met any good free tools...so, you can look it up for yourself-www.flashconv.com.

i have already written here about VisiFly, it's one more converter from video to flash. It's simple and structured, i managed how to use it very quickly, without any problems. look it here (http://www.visifly.com/VisiFly/).
