Fla to Mpeg

this is my first post
i use flash mx and m pretty new to this world
can you plz tell me how shall i convert my flash movie(.fla) (swf file size=11.9mb) to mpeg. i tried to convert the file to avi and then to mpeg but it didnt work as the resultant avi was getting larger (file size=3.99gb !)

that is bound to happen.When you change your swf to any movie format,the file size will increase.

Flash exports to avi without any compression. So what you need to do is once it has all be encoded to avi you then need to get another app/tool to compress it.
What is it that you have built that requires you to export to avi?
Whats the target filesize your aiming for?

i am new and i love to do things on experimental basis .. basically learning on trial and error basis. i learnt adobe photoshop, imageready, flash, ... in this way and i am now interested to know how movies(.mpeg) are displayed in the web pages ! i am trying to upload one to my weblog and display the same and will be a great achievement for me if i can do that.

frankly speaking this curiosity came to my mind from some **** sites :)

how do they do that ??

I havn't the foggest idea what your refering to on that site. Can you please be more specific with a link to a particular item.

THat is not what is happening on that site.
THe player and movie are not one. Flash movie player and movie.swf.
Movie.swf is loaded into player.swf

but how come a .swf like that is compressed like that .. its so fast and with controllers in it

i want to try that with a mpeg too

The movie it's self is only something like 1min long.
The movie would havebeen originally an avi or mpeg. that was then coverted to an swf using something some app like avi 2 swf, flix pro etc.
The player is a standalone that just reads the url for the movie.swf and then loads it.
