Hi, I am searching for a tool to create 3D images for use in FLASH. I hear that the main 2 are Swift3D & Vecta3D. Is there a trial version of either/both of these programs available for download. I would like to be able to evaluate the programs before commiting to a purchase - the demo I found for Vecta3D is all well & good but does not allow me to see if it would suit my requirements/working style.
If trial versions of these programs are available please let me know where I can find them.
Thanks y'all.

I think it will be hard to get the actual feel of full versions as there
isn't any. Another software for 3d you may consider is Illustrate!
They now have version 5 which will be the "fastest renderer" and lots of cartoon rendering options! www.davidgould.com (http://www.davidgould.com)
Swift3D have held up the release of the trial version be'cos of a bug found and they want to have a crippled version to be released soon in concurrent with the MAC version of Swift3D.
Vecta3D does good rendering output but you need 3DsMax to run it.
The standalone does little.
Swift3D will help you render and allows you to import animation from 3ds files! You can check out the reviews and see for yourself if it's worth getting at: www.flashmove.com/swift3d/review.htm (http://flashmove.com/swift3d/review.htm)

Well, scince you can't get a trial of Swift 3d or Vecta 3d.. I'll give you a quick rundown.

Vecta 3d is not bad.. they had the first stand alone 3d renderer for flash. But, I don't like it... It is not bad, but overall does not seem like a great program. It is built like a kids game. I just do not like the interface. But I do know it does have a faster renderer. So all and all, for the price it is probably worth it.

Swift 3d... This is a good program. The renderer seems slower than Vecta's, but it's worth the wait. The interface is much more intuitive, and more similiar with other 3d programs. I use this program quite often.

Illistrate... What can I say... this is a great plug-in for 3D Studio Max. I haven't had the chance to use the latest version, which supports gradient shading among many things, but the other versions ( 4 and lower ), I've used. They seem to render VERY fast, and the output is great. I will be adding V5 to my arsenal soon enough.

Hope this helps you with your decision.
