Hi guys,

I have an existing application written in MFC. This app is fullscreen and also uses a secondary touchscreen monitor. The touchscreen gui is currently implemented in MFC and is quite complex because of high flexibility required. The touchscreen interface dynamically created from XML settings file. I would like to redo the touchscreen part in flash to take advantage of the great looking and easy to make graphics and animations which flash provides.

I plan to create the whole touchscreen interface in flash, load it into MFC app using shockwave activex control and have full ability to control the interface from the MFC app.

But because I know very little about flash I need to know if this project is feasible.

Here are my requirements:
1. fully dynamic GUI in flash which is created from an XML settings file. This file specifies where all the buttons are located, button style properties, and what actions each button does.
2. ability to communicate between flash GUI and MFC app. MFC app must have ability to tell the flash GUI to update itself, load a new screen, modify button caption, etc. and on the other hand flash GUI must have the ability to tell MFC app that user has pressed this or that button
3. ability for flash GUI to perform live screen capture and display the captured image in real-time. I have no idea if this is possible, maybe it could be done by sharing memory between MFC app and flash, or MFC app sending bitmaps to flash gui at about 15frames/sec.

Can someone please shed some light on this for me. I want to know if it's possible to implement such an application in flash.

I think this is doable. Although I am not totally sure about point number 3.
