MarioTec released Flash exe file convertion and encryption tool(Flashexeshell).

MarioTec released Flashexeshell v 1.01 on November 1st, 2006.

Flashexeshell is a professional swf2exe application. Unlike those heavy-weight and expensive tools, Flash EXE Shell™ is a light-weight and simple tool. Flashexeshell generates encrypted Flash Projector file in .EXE format. It is the best choice for you to protect your Flash Projector file(.exe file) from EXE2SWF tools and swf decompiler tools. Help you to share your Flash movies in security. It supports swf2exe, exe2exe and packing multi files. FlashEXEShell also supports password protection and packing Flash OCX file. Even user can custom application title and player window style.

Sounds great! i've been wanting to protect some games which had to run on exe to play fast but yet it had to be save from decompilers.
However does it mean it's hack proof or just tougher to decrypt?
What encryption algoritm are you using?

No. Flashexeshell isn't a compression software like others. Yes, there are many PE application can compress .dll file or .exe file. In normal situation, you can get up to 60% compression ratio. There are also many free solutions you can search in Google. They can help you to create .exe file by adding a compressed standard player shell on .swf file. Those PE application compress .exe and add shell on it only. It doesn't affect .swf anything. All those exe2swf tools can reveal the original .swf quite easily.

If you try to use some compression tools (like ASPACK or other PE tools) to compress your final projector file, you will find the output movie will crash. The compression process will break the structure of the movie.

Sorry for I can not tell you how Flashexeshell exactly works. But I can tell you, although it is called flashexeshell, but it isn't a shell that was added on .swf movies. Maybe you can understand the process like this simplely. You will find there is a player shell in the application folder. Flashexeshell decomposes .swf movie into parts and composes them into player shell with an encryption algorithm. The composing process is stochastic. It is not a fixed encryption algoritm. If so, it will be cracked by a simple tool easily.

The main pupose we release this tool is to offer user a solution to protect their projector file from decompiler tools. Just make their flash projector file not to be cracked easily. MarioTec can not guarantee you 100% security to protect your movie, we can only do our best to offer you a better security solution. You know, absolute security is impossible. Except there isn't any decompiler tools in the world. If so, the protection tools will be useless.

If you do want to get a better security, we recommend that you can use some swf(swc) protection tools to protect your original movie first. Swf encrypt(http://www.amayeta.com) or Swc encrypt(http://www.fenixstudio.org) is a good choice. Or you can try ASO(http://www.genable.com/aso.html). Then you can use Flashexeshell to create the final projector file from the encrypted movie.

If you are interested in our tools or want to learn more, you can contact us at webmaster@mariotec.com.

I hope this tool is a useful tool for Flash author.
