Ok so I am working on a template for my site. however its not in .fla format. I have one html file and 1 .swf file. when thay are compressed in winzip the html page is 756k however when I unzip them the html page becomes 1k. and there's only some basic info in the html one such as links and the thing to download flash if the person dosent have it. both formats look exactly the same when I open them. the html page looks just like the .swf page. How can I edit this stuff to customise it to my page? i cant open the .swf file in mx 2004 p. because its not a .fla file. and I open the html file in dreamweaver but only see the links and stuff. HELP ME OUT AGAIN IAM A NEWBIE

Files are supposed to get smaller when compressed and bigger when decompressed.

What do you mean they look the same?!
How do you open them? in a text editor, in the explorer, in Flash?

You can edit html files in any texteditor of your preference.
You can't edit a swf. You can open a swf in Flash though.

ok i figured it out. I guess the html and .swf page the same thing. but inorder for the html page to work the .swf needs to be in the same directory. Which is great for me because my .html file is now a .swf file. but I am still having some probs with it getting it right. http://www.ebaystradingassistant.com to see what I am talking about

I don't see the problem.

HTML is a mark-up language, all it can do is tell the browser what to display and how to display it. In your case it is telling the browser to display the .swf file.
