Flash 7 in the Flash 6 player
Hello,
Am I right in thinking that on Windows, the flash player 6 automatically updates itself to version 7 when it encounters a flash7 swf for the 1st time? I can never remember installing version 7 on my machine. But this contradicts what I have read on the subject - supposedly flash 6 just goes ahead and attempts to play the v7 movie with no warning message, and chokes on it. Also the Flash 7 installer requires a restart before it is operational. So am I wrong? Do you really have to put a flash detect page in front of every flash 7 movie you publish? If so I think I'm going back to Flash 6 & never buying a new version of Flash again... |
