Wildform Releases Flix 2.0 - Featuring Vectorized Video
Hi,
I wanted to let you guys know about our latest release. - Colby WILDFORM RELEASES FLIX 2.0 – FEATURING VECTORIZED VIDEO The easiest way to create web video just got even better. LOS ANGELES, CA – February 26, 2002. Wildform, developers of media software and resources, today announced the release of Flix 2.0. Flix is an amazingly easy to use software that encodes video into Flash, the most popular media format on the web (according to a December, 2001 NPD Research study, 98.3% of all Web users can view Flix’s Flash output without a download). Flix 1.0 was the first software to author Flash video, and Flix 2.0 is the first software that can convert standard video into vectorized video. Standard video is made up of images that are divided into blocks. Flix 2.0’s vectorized video, on the other hand, consists only of vectors – lines and curves defined by mathematical equations that can scale to any size without distortion. Flix 2.0 can produce high impact and very low bitrate vectorized streaming video for use on websites and in Internet advertising and marketing. It is also a powerful new tool for animators, since Flix 2.0 can turn any video into an animation that can be edited in the Flash authoring tool. Additionally, Flix 2.0 features performance enhancements and new, time saving features, such as batch encoding. Each Flix 2.0 license also includes $100 in video from the Wildform Video Library and access to Wildform’s customer only resource section. According to CEO, Jonathan Blank, “Wildform has been the leader in Flash video and with Flix 2.0 we have furthered that position with powerful new features including vector output. Once again, we have created a new way of presenting video on the web and in CD ROMs.” Wildform released Flix 1.0 in January, 2001 and it quickly became an essential program for Flash developers, web designers, and video enthusiasts. With Flix users can literally author video and post it on the web in minutes. Flix also makes it very simple to insert links into video, create video banner ads and e-mails, and deploy customized media players. Wildform, based in Venice, California, is run by Jonathan Blank, Colby Devitt, and Arjun Nayyar. The company, which also created the popular SWFX animation tool and the Wildform Video Library, develops media products, resources and services.
