Hello,
I am attempting to build a flash application that will search within documents on a cd for a text string of user input. For instance, a search box is placed in the scene, and user inputs the words "search for this". The application will search on a binary level for this text string within the documents on the cd-rom. The documents will be MS-Word, MS-Excel, txt and rtf. Finally, the application will return a list of matches based on the string. It will dynamically hyperlink these matches to the document or spreadsheet, and let the user choose which to open. My question is acutally the binary file search portion, the rest I can work through. I just want to know if it is possible to search for words inside an external document or Excel file. Thanks in advance. dsysdera |
