- Preparedness – For starters, always put safety at the forefront each and every time you get in your car or truck. Keeping in mind that it is in fact a privilege do drive, don’t take safety for granted. If it means leaving five minutes earlier to make an appointment, do it. Rushing to get there and not obeying the rules of the road puts you and others in danger. Also make sure you prep your vehicle (see more below) to make sure it is in sound driving condition. Getting behind the wheel of an unsafe vehicle is a recipe for disaster;
- Vehicle – How well equipped is your vehicle when it comes to safety preparedness? Unfortunately, too many vehicle owners are running around with cars and trucks that truly should not be on the road. Whether it is faulty brakes, bad tires, a windshield that is hard to see out of, the list could go on and on. Be as pro-active as possible when it comes to making sure you have a vehicle that is safe to drive. This can also include looking at the value car back up cameras add when it comes to safety. Someone got behind the wheel and was on their cell phone, was applying makeup, or even got into a confrontation with another driver. All the while doing these things, they then end up causing an accident. Don’t be one of those drivers to lose focus, an action that could end up costing you your life and possibly the lives of others. Always make keeping your eyes and ears focused on the road the number one priority from when you start the engine until when you park and turn it off.
Driving safety does come with a price, a price that is essentially your time and effort.
When you stop to think about it, the price of doing otherwise can be quite disastrous.
